  • Table Arrangements 2010
This work began while working in an outdoor studio during a spring in the mountains of western North Carolina. The pictures continue a longstanding interest in tabletop still-life photography and draws from an affection for the paintings of Giorgio Morandi.

  • Sport
As a driver of a school-aged daughter to far-flung fields and gyms, I found myself recording these environments during the endless waiting periods between games. That daughter is now grown and I am still photographing these sites, primarily when they are dormant — a place of action seen in a still moment before and after performance.

  • Gettysburg
As a child I made many trips to the Gettysburg National Battlefield with my family. Having returned recently I was struck by the physicality of place and the intense level of interest lavished on these 6,000 acres. I continue to photograph these fields in order to understand the impact this park's history has on me and to place myself in a landscape highly charged with memory and memorial.
